We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Salary Administrator to join our dynamic Human Resources team at the Catholic Education Centre on a temporary basis. Under the direction of the Operations Coordinator, the Salary Administrator inputs data for use by Payroll, for new employees, salary changes, increments, the implementation of new collective agreements; provides confirmation of employment letters and letters of experience.


Job Description:

  • Accurately update and process compensation changes, QECO changes, experience calculation worksheets and grid step increments

  • Process daily employee personal information changes, SEB forms, and LSIC forms within the Laserfiche system

  • Onboard new staff and prepare and process various employment letters, including verification with banks, experience letters, and letters for new hires (PRC, Work Permits)

  • Daily generation of the Ministry of Education Number (MEN) report for Teachers, issuing new MENs on the OnSIS site and updating records in K212

  • Manage the daily HR Operations inbox, actioning and responding to emails promptly.

  • Run and review the daily Leave Reports through the Crystal reporting system and follow up with staff regarding scheduled returns from leave

  • Suggest improvements to existing processes and create new forms to enhance efficiency

  • Review collective agreements as necessary to ensure accurate application of salary rules

  • Administer the Police Record Checks (PRC) and Vulnerable Sector Checks (VSC) process, including distributing formal Request Letters to employees and sending reminder notices.

  • Filing of PRC’s and VSC’s for all active employees, ensuring all data is accurately entered into the HRIS system and stored within Laserfiche.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor


Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or other post secondary education in a related field

  • 3 years of related experience

  • Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS) to access, input and compile data

  • Experience in Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Sites, Drive, Email, Calendar, etc)

  • Strong understanding of Excel using functions, filters, data sorts and pivot tables 

  • Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Labour Relations Act and Service Canada Programs

  • Exemplary interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, coordinating and prioritizing multiple assignments and the ability to take initiative

  • Demonstrated customer service focus and detail oriented

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills

  • Well developed judgment and decision making skills and ability to learn new tasks quickly

  • Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

In addition, the following will be considered an asset:

  • Previous school board experience

  • Experience using K212, Laserfiche and myOCSB and familiar with Crystal reporting


This is a temporary position with an annual salary range of $71,312 - $80,595 . A pension package is also available.


The anticipated start date will be March 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026.
